Factors Affecting Community Health

Introduction

Health has been an overall issue inside a community. The health issues have been drawn different from the other health problems. A community living with good health will help the country solve the various problems. As far as the health is in the topic, the concern of making it promoted is not possible because of the hindrances that can cause the people avoid the introduction of it on their community.

Three Community Factors

Social Factors

The social factor affects the community health based on the household income of one family. If a family receives only a minimal gross at the end of every month then, it is expected that the money will be allotted to the other things that they considered as necessity and important for them to live. Examples of are the food and shelter, the ordinary couple chose to lend their money in buying food to fill their thirst and hunger.

The educational attainment is also an added reason contributing the social factors. It is like a domino effect, without education there will be no available work that will fit to the limited skills a person might have. And without work, the household income will be less than expected. The poor educational attainment will mislead the people by misunderstanding the true concept of health and any health alert advisories. Another thing is the racial or ethnic group of the community. Different races have different beliefs and different customs. The trust that an individual might put into the medical attendant is not that full because the individual put limitations and avoiding communication. The ethnical customs and belief is a kind of hindrance that is passed up to the next generation of their family.

Physical factors

The physical factor that affects the health of a person is also with the kind of lifestyle and personality assessment about the environment. The vicious activities like smoking, drinking, and drug addiction can affect the performance and health status of a person. The other misconceptions about the diet, overweight and obesity, and physical activities can also lead the individuals for the poor health habit. An exercise is good but only if it is not an intense workout. The over-exercise will only lead the individual in being fatigue and dehydrated. The activities might lead them to overeating just to fill their exhaustion and hunger.

Cultural Factors

The cultural factor is also the big contributor of the health assessment. The difference in the nature and breeding of the culture is a conflict in introducing the health benefits. First is the value system where the norms, values, and beliefs can define the individuality by sensing the moral concept and categorizing the wrong from the right thing. The manifest customs is like symbolizing the personality by the choice of food, music, movies, television shows, and clothing. The taste and preferences matters in the kind of culture they had. The self-identified ethnicity is an extent on which a person identifies his own self within the other group. The shared experience that creates the bonding and relationship among their group might trigger on both the bad and good side of acknowledging the health promotion.

The nationality or country of origin is based within the geographical area that identifies the differences in language and can cause discrimination, whether intentionally or not. The treatment of other people are based upon the social understand towards the other or the current issue about the race or origin of the individual. For some other group, the importance of spirituality in involvement of their everyday life which also became part of decision making.

Health Issues

In the particular medical strategy, many doctors or medical practitioners they already faced in dealing the different cultural factors of the patients. The cultural factor is a great contributor of making the health promotion depleted in some community. For example, the spiritual belief of some family affects the decision-making towards their family member’s medication. The postponing of operation can cause the complications into worse.

Conclusion

The health issues of the different family are both good and bad, but most cases are concerned with the cultural or spiritual belief that if neglected, the “curse” might pass unto the next generation. That is a problem in part of a medical advocate and believing that through the knowledge in science, the medication is better than praying for a good omen. The factors should be considered as a fundamental in understanding the status of the patient.
