Gay Marriage

Gay marriage is a touchy subject in many countries, with lots of different opinions floating around. The stereotype of gay is usually frowned upon in societies and many people reject the idea of them being “normal”. Should these gay couples be allowed to live a married life?

In my opinion, I think they gay marriage should be legalized. As humans, we search for one thing in life, love. Someone to share our lives with and promise to be forever committed to them. I think that everybody has the right to this. Yes, there are ways in which gay people can commit themselves to each other without being legally married, but why not let them be married, but committed? In our view isn’t this exactly the same thing but not legalized? Imagine a gay woman, dreaming of her wedding since she was a little girl, but law tells her she cannot have her dream wedding because of the gender of the person she loves. Love is the same in everyone whether they are gay, straight, black or white, so why are some people denied the right? Isn’t everybody equal in our world? Obviously not.

There is the great percentage of people in this world that look down on gay people, saying that it is not natural or normal of a human to love the same gender. But what would they know? They do not have the right to deny somebody the right to something that everybody else in the world is entitled to just because they think that they aren’t “normal”.

Gay people are excluded from our society, but I believe that they cannot be excluded from a ceremony that everybody else takes part in, because of the people they love. Anybody in love should understand why these people want to be involved in the ceremony, and shouldn’t discriminate such a loving person because of being gay.
