Statistic Research and Development

An essential part of being successful in any business is to be productive. Wasted and idol time is quickly lost and to recover, whether in a production environment assembling widgets or in an office atmosphere, productivity can be a pivotal point between success and failure.

This is evident in all areas of the country as well as the rest of the world. As Michael J. Kelly writes in The Ottawa Citizen, there is a general consensus in Canada that productivity is a problem. In fact, Kelly goes on to write that Canada’s productivity is about 80 percent of that of the United States.

The purpose of this research is to develop a figure to present to the members of Canada elite business owners and government officials. This figure shows that the distance between the U.S. and Canada has grown over the past decade. By having this knowledge, the government and non-governmental agencies have the information to provide funds for science and engineering studies as well as research and development.

The businesses have a problem of being unproductive. This can be widespread across the entire business. By investigating the issue and using critical thinking, the managers are empowered to utilize the internal and external factors to overcome the issue of being unproductive.

The method of data collection is estimated percentages and general consensus among Canada’s business schools need to improve in the science and engineering departments. By doing this Canada has the opportunity to grow both economically as well as industrial expansion.

To be successful in business you must be profitable efficient and productive. Having low productivity can be a negative image to portray to a business. A negative mindset of low productivity can be contagious and a business killer. By having the data provided to the proper business and government officials are empowered to make changes for the better. When faced with the pivotal question, how would you answer? Are you productive or not?
