Situation: Break-in followed by fire at an Apartment Complex
To the Council,
After the thorough investigation and negotiation to the witnesses, I am here presenting to you a letter that comprises the entire collected puzzle from the incident happened three days ago.
The first witness saw a mysterious black tinted van. It is mysterious because it travels with no plate number then it parked in the west side of the Hotel. The next hour after the departure of this anonymous vehicle, the security system in the main hub alarmed. The Hotel’s security is proactive, which is not the norm for such mixed-use commercial complexes. The contractor takes care of what it thinks is important, and he absolutely informed me upon the occurrence of the turbulent signal.
I immediately called the reserved security personnel to hunt those robbers down and ordered the control center to synchronized shut down all the elevators and Hotel’s exits and entrances. The head of security suggested to guard the other passage that the crooks might turn to escape. So I gradually agreed on this and his men were deployed.
I am very confident that the thieves will get caught and receive proper punishment. I relied on the technology that we acquire for the Hotel’s safety. The other Hotel personnel are aware of the commotion and I ordered them to inform the tenants to guard their rooms, and thus they obliged to help the hunting for we believe that the crooks hiding through camouflaging as one of our personnel. Then suddenly, a report came to me, one personnel saw his co-workers beaten up, naked. And this convinces me that the first theory is proven right.
I assured the tenants for their security and reminded them about the security button that hides behind their door; all they have to do is to push it if they spotted any unfamiliar face on their floor.
Another factor is the badging technology that we used these past months. Among the contacts' duties is to learn about and implement the perimeter access control program's badging protocol. If you will remember, every employee is required to have a valid combination access control/ID badge to gain entry to the upper floors of any building.
The security hub is an around-the-clock command center to which is routed video from CCTV cameras, and information from alarms and access control card readers in the buildings' base levels and garages. The command center also controls the intercom system throughout the complex. I can say because I was there.
The department staff includes a database administrator who handles all access control, camera, and technology issues. And from there we detected one crook, literally broke one of our tenant’s door, who is out of the country. The securities headed down the hall to meet the thief. They successfully grabbed him and retrieved the things from our tenant. We learned that the crooks are six in the group. And I underestimated them, they are computer genius and they broke the codes of the security.
But they did not manage to escape the trap created by the doors. The police responded within fifteen minutes. The alarm of siren triggered the crooks to make an explosion that created a fire. The big fire started from the fifth floor of the Hotel and we are in the seventh. The expected response from the tenants is to react violently and in confusion.
I faced a two different situation, if I ordered the control room to start the operation of the doors, the crooks will escape; and if I don’t we will see ourselves roasted inside the Hotel. Gladly, the tenants have balked at many fire drills. And all of us complied in the security head’s suggestion. We all went to the place where there’s enough ventilation. I don’t what he did but he bravely went down to the fifth floor.
And before all the tenants induce sign of suffocation, the fire department rescued us through the window. We are finally safe and saved.
Through the series of investigation, the police officers hinted a perspective that there is an inside job and conspiracy. I discovered that the crooks are not that new. They are a group of robbers with an impressive track record of consummated robberies. Our Hotel personnel found acetylene tools and bolt-cutting instruments after the two had left.
They confirmed that the caught thieves are composed of six delinquent teens that took part in the heist. The last part of their plan is to escape using the early spotted van and waited them in the west boundary of the next street.
