Climate Change Adaptation

Introduction

Climate change is a worldwide problem that every nation are attempting to formulate specific answer and solution. Through the emitted carbons came from the vehicles, or the chlorofluorocarbons from the refrigerants, the simple living of the people became the simple gesture to destroy the nature. Environmentalists’ predicts that the changes in climate dictate that the environment is in the peril to abandon the humanity. The climate changes due to the past years abuse in nature and the time has finally arrived for the consequences.

Background and Problem Statement

Through the different explorations of the environmentalists and the advocates in the other consequences pertaining to the climate change, people are the only creation that is the cause and will endure the effects of their negligence. The most affected area in the issue of climate change is the agricultural sector in which most of he people are dependent in the said sector. However, the creation of certain strategies to lessen the impact of the climate change is promoted in both rural and urban areas. On the other hand, the indigenous people of Tanzania are also managing to continue their way of living even if there is a threat of climate change.

Research Objectives

The first objective of the study is to describe and assess the climate change adaptation of the indigenous people, Hadzabe, in Tanzania. The second objective is to maintain the traditional and cultural living of the Hadzabe in their territory. And the last objective is to assess the living conditions of the tribe since they are dependants on the natural resources and its availability.

Research Questions

The study claims that the climate change is not the fault of one person, but definitely the fault of all of the people. This should serve as the factor that pushes the people to give their initiatives to minimize the impact on climate change among human beings. The several questions can help the study in meeting its objectives.

  1. What are the natural or common works of the indigenous people in Tanzania to support their livelihood?
  2. What are the adjustments that the tribe is attempting to perfect in the challenge of climate change that might in return be adopted by the other people?
  3. What are initiatives of the government to answer the needs of the indigenous people?

Literature Review

The African government has a significant growing interest in terms of climate changes and the responsible management of the people including the indigenous people. The concern of the impacts of climate change in the nation’s livelihood gives way to the powerful creation of policies and diversification of knowledge (Carr-Hill, et al., 2005). The climate change can destroy the biodiversity and the forestry but the indigenous people named, Hadzabe, creates an opportunity to protect their own lands and natural resources. Accordingly, the indigenous people can survive the consequences of the climate change because of their broad knowledge, practices, innovations and ways of protecting their land and the biodiversity enclosed with it. Protecting the livelihood is the most basic attribute of the Hadzabe tribe. With this idea, the African government directs the any possible interaction among the tribe to gain their idea on the appropriate knowledge and skills to manage the livelihood and wildlife management to be the partner for the conservation policies. Climate change created a great impact in Africa and the noticeable effects are on the agriculture and other industries like the mining. The dilemma on the lengthened droughts or/and excessive floods definitely placed the sector of agriculture into the state of peril. It is enough that the people understand the train of problems due to climate changes, but it is important that there are ways to prevent or avoid the drastic outcomes. And the indigenous people emphasized their idea on understanding the climate change and therefore, they build their capacities to effectively engage in various processes wherein they can all handle the challenges in climate change (Crawhall and Sena, 2007).

Methodology

The applied method in the study is based on the use of experiment and observation on the community of the Hadzabe. Through the personal interaction to the people, the adequate answer can be identified. In addition, meeting the indigenous people predicts that the study can have a great advantage in completing the objectives such as maintaining their traditional way of living. The researcher/s will attempt to expand their knowledge in explaining the different things that they might discover in the implementation of the method.

Conclusion

The government called the action for adaptation as an important aspect of creating recommendations on how to cope with drought and biological diversity. The indigenous people have is more capable to survive for they cope with the environment and can help warn the experts on the upcoming other consequences of climate change.
