Fulani Tribe

The Fulani are primarily nomadic herders and traders. Through their nomadic lifestyle, they established numerous trade routes in West Africa. Many times the Fulani go to local marketers and interact with the people there getting news and spreading it through much of West Africa.

The most important object in Fulani society is cattle, and there are many names, traditions, and taboos concerning cattle. The number of cows a person owns is a sign of his wealth.

Even though the Fulani tribe is considered to be wealthy, there are a lot of diseases whipping out the different cultures in Africa. Such as infantile tetanus which occurs primarily in the southern and southwestern States of North America. This form of tetanus is usually caused by equipment not being sterilized properly and then used during the cutting of the umbilical cord.

Medicine to reverse the poison (tetanus immune globulin) has been used to treat infantile tetanus. Antibiotics including penicillin, clindamycin, erythromycin, or metronidazole can be used to treat the disease. There’s also Surgery to clean the wound and remove the source of the poison, muscle relaters such as diazepam, and sedatives.
