Communion Table
This is a simple table made from wood, situated at the front and centre of the church. Sacraments such as the Eucharist are performed form this point once a month. Positioned on the top of the communion table is a basic silver cross without the figure of Christ on it as the Methodist church believes in the resurrection of Christ’s body.
Hymn Board
This is a simple wooden area situated in the upper left corner of the church used for resting specific hymn numbers printed on wooden plaques. These numbers relate to pages within the hymn books so worshipers can follow specific hymn related to the sermon. The hymns selected by the minister will also refer to bible passages and Christian teachings, helping Christians when making moral decisions and lead a good life.
Lectern
This is an unadorned, narrow stand made from wood and is situated to the right of the communion table. It is from this point that the minister would rest the bible and give the sermon, discussing the bible to help those attending the service receive a greater understanding of Christianity. Covering the front of the lectern hangs a topical cloth banner decorated with relevant quotes and phrases from the bible.
Stained glass windows
These are square shaped widows situated at the front of the church embellished with ornate illustrations portraying certain parables from the bible to remind worshipers of particular bible teachings and festivals. This helps them in the way they lead their lives and how they would go about making decisions.
Font
This is a basic octagonal shaped box made from wood and situated on a portable metal stand to the right of the lectern. The font is filled with water that has previously been blessed by the minister and is used during the sacrament of baptism by which a person is cleansed of ‘original sin’, devoting their faith to Christianity and is welcomed as a member of the church.
Nexus
This is a separate area from the church hall within the church building that provides a suitable and modern environment in which meetings and discussions take place. Within the Nexus area is an art café open to the public, this links the art community to the church. The café is run by volunteering members of the congregation and is conducted in an ethical manner serving fair trade goods only.
