Introduction
Teaching is a kind of profession where the knowledge is the main product. From the past assessment of the educators, they believe that the quality education can be attained if the teacher can use the different teaching methods and incorporate the deliveries of knowledge through the use of appropriate strategies. In addition, the students are also expected to cooperate to achieve the knowledge passed for them.
Background and Problem Statement
According to the past researches pertaining to the quality teaching and education, the use of language can be the most effective way to address something. It is the best way to communicate in terms of asking the questions and answering it as well. Through the same language, people understand each other can exchange information. It is a great advantage for a student if he or she managed to learn different language and the passage of inference can be establish. However, educators that promote the quality education view the use of the Multiple Intelligence Based Strategies to teach the English among their students. The rising problem is how effective this application of strategies can be?
Research Objectives
The first objective of the study is to identify the role of the Multiple Intelligence Based Strategies in teaching English in schools. The second objective is to find other ways in to effectively deliver the learning and the third objective is to create another push for the educators in the pursuance of the quality education.
Research Questions
The study prepared the several questions that will link the focus of the study to the concept of effective teaching strategies. Through the use of the questions, the study can meet its own formulated objectives.
1. What are the Multiple Intelligence Based Strategies?
2. What are the concepts in each of the strategies?
3. What is the purpose of teaching English to educate the students?
Literature Review
Teachers devoted most of their time in helping the students understands the different concept of learning and then provide them necessary information wherein they can provide opportunities to strengthen the students’ abilities in various areas. Through introducing the topics and the continuous development on the lessons and on the curricula, the students can practice and apply the multiple intelligences. There are eight types of intelligences that the student can use in learning. The Multiple Intelligence Based Strategies are enumerated as linguistic intelligence, musical intelligence, logical-mathematical intelligence, spatial intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, and naturalistic intelligence. Probably, the most admired strategy in teaching is the use of language which is very applicable if the educators’ wants to teach the English among their students. The intelligence gained form languages involved the ability to communicate and use the language in a variety of ways. Languages can be communicated through the forms of speaking, writing, and reading. The intelligence that the students might gain and adhere in their lives is the sensitivity to the meaning of words as well as the other words, and even the sounds and the rhythm of words. The strengths of the intelligence are evident to the journalists, poets, and speechwriters. In addition, if the student finds the enjoyment in studying languages can quickly learn and exhibit the linguistic intelligence. Languages develops rapidly in everyone and the competence also develops if the person is aware about the importance of the language, its role in their lives, and on how to use it correctly. The evolution of the languages can be tracked to the culture and how it can be transmitted.
Methodology
The proposed method in the study is the use of the interview among the schools. The participants are all teachers and their information such as age, gender, number of years in practice, and their position in school will be taken for their answers might be based on theses factors in promoting or not the use Multiple Intelligence Based Strategies. At the end of the study, it is considered that the point-of-views of the educators are divided in to two and their opinions are very much welcome as their participation in the study. It is an advantage for the study to use the method for it can serve well on the current situation happening in the pedagogical setting.
Conclusion
Teaching English language is very big responsibility for the teachers. Therefore, they must understand the different dimensions of teaching and in other way develop the existing process of teaching. Teachers can start to assessing the use of the Multiple Intelligence Based Strategies and create a bridge to help the students understands it purpose.
