Cosmos

Cosmos was one of the long term projects of ours. It started with a movie of a different world. The movie took us into another world that we have never been. It told us the story of the small creatures that live under grass, on soil. The movie was nice to see, but moreover we succeeded to see the world from a different point of view. And there occurred lots of question marks on our minds. What was the new project?

The new project was “Cosmos”, in other words creating new worlds. The first task was to create a world after watching the small creatures’ lives. My world was a two dimensional world that everyone has only two dimensions and stands perpendicular to the sun that stay in the middle. Therefore, there was not any shadow or anything in secret. Everything was transparent in other words. The needs of the people were supplied by the sun. We made a story board that tells a story of a person’s life who lives in our worlds. It was my first time creating a story board.

The second part of the project was creating four more worlds each stands for a feeling. This time the worlds were smaller than the first one, nevertheless I noticed that my understanding of the word “cosmos” was increasing. I used carton for my scale model that stand for chaos, hope, fear and desperateness. Similar to the story board, this time we told a story that reflects the feeling it represent, of a person that lives in one of our worlds by using the technique of kolaj. My story board was about the feeling of hope and reaching the hopeful light by coming out of the darkness.

Last but not least, we recorded our first movies to tell the life in one of worlds. It was a 30 seconds of a person that lives in one of those worlds. My movie was the thirty seconds in the chaotic world. The creature firstly wanders around the world than gets inside by climbing and jumping. Finally, its brain can’t function, when it gets inside the world and the brain loses the control of the body.
