GIGABYTES AND NEUROBIOLOGY

1)Scientist aims to take photos of very fast actions like the shutter step flight of butterflies and the camera that the the scientists uses is developed from the camera that Eadweard Muybridge produced.

2) In the early paragraph, the author mentions about the fascinating system of flies’ brains. There is small number of neurons who take role for the occurance of action end it’s impressing. Insects are a good example for neurological machines. The relationship between their neurological systems and their action is impressing. The author says that, the insects can be used as an example to build better robots.

3. I think the type of the movement that a fruit fly can make called saccades. Later on, the author explains the details of the movement. For example, friction makes the flies to cope with in changing the direction.

4.The research team wanted to take photos of the flies’ maneuvers. They used high technology cameras but they weren’t successful. They used a robot fruit fly with meter long wings to see how the flies moved and analyze the forces which affects the action.

5.If the things which are captured could be seen immediately for analyzing and if they have been quickly available to manipulate, it could be likened to the electron microscope.

6) The researchers had a chance to have an idea about the relationship between the insects’ and flies’ brain and movements. Neurons are the basic thing for a movement’s occurance so by examining the movements lots of things can be understood about neurobiology.

7.I found a website which gives information about insect wing beat frequency and flight speed, wing structure.
