Introduction
War is an inevitable creation of man and every country are turning against it. In war, the people of the country are plagued by various diseases and will experience the hardship. Most of the people will realize the poverty and men against men is the cover story of the media.
Effects of War
When there is an existence of war, the poverty became extremely high and there are land chaos and different movements against the government. There is also a relevant effect in the inflation and can be the persistent problem all over the countries. In accordance, the incomes of household are declining and the economy cannot hold onto the trading, trading barrier most especially in importation, and competition in the market. Most of the developing countries are involved in the activity of debt financing and when the country ravaged by war, there is a great possibility that there is an existence of the foreign debt. And lastly, there is a great environmental damage all over the country. The infrastructures made it difficult for the transportations and the people can no longer have a better place to live in.
Strategic Economic Development
Due to the devastating results of war, the government seeks development. The government place initiatives placing the authority and powers. Knowing that the rebellion might be the main cause of another war, the government should still create an economic strategy to improve the status of their country. The economic development is possible if the country savaged by war seeks additional aid form the other strong nations.
Typically the policy of the post-war economy is to restore and maintain peace, improves security, prevent the renewal of war, facilitate rapid socio-economic recovery, and start to build the institutional framework favorable to development and sustained poverty reduction. Socio-economic recovery and poverty reduction are important elements of building peace while improving peace and security reinforce economic growth. The government is seeking the different perspective of the challenges of the socio-economic transitions, and assesses economic costs and consequences of the past wars. Managing a post-war economy is extremely hard and needs dedication from the leaders. The processes and priorities of humanitarian and development assistance and post-war economic reforms for socio-economic recovery, reintegration and development should be also part of the strategic economic development of the government.
In addition, the leaders should address the needs and mechanisms for the financing of the transition from emergency to development and the roles of international relief and development institutions and their instruments for promoting the process of peaceful change and development in a war ravaged country. Some institutional reforms to deal with the legacies of the war including frank and open national dialogue, reform of government and the security services, capacity building in the public sector, integration of ethnic dimensions into the economic and governance reforms, promotion of trade and employment creation, and forging strong partnership with external aid agencies, to facilitate the path to sustained long-term development.
Economic Development Benefits after the War
The active leaders as well as local policies have a direct influence on the economy and therefore, the entire society might gain different advantages or benefits in the implementation of the economic development strategies and policies. There is an Increased Tax Base where the additional revenue to support, maintains, and improves local services such as roads, parks, libraries, and emergency medical services. More Job Development to provide better wages, benefits, and opportunities for advancement. Strong Business Retention wherein the businesses that feel appreciated by the community and, in turn, feel as if they are contributing to the economy will stay in town.
There is an Economic Diversification that helps expands the economy and reduces a community's vulnerability to a single business sector. Realization of the Quality of Life where there are more local tax dollars and jobs raise the economic tide for the community, which generally increases the overall standard of living of the residents. Recognition of Local Products which are oftentimes, successful economic development will occur when locally produced goods are consumed to a greater degree in the local market.
