The mind/brain – Robot People

(a) Do you think that one day we will be able to explain all our conscious thoughts through examining brain function?

Humans cannot find out everything that we are thinking about in the mind because we only know how the mind works and how the brain helps us to think, but we cannot figure out what makes us think like that and what we are thinking just by looking at it. It is much too complex for humans to ever work out.

(b) In tour of the brain that brain functions are said to explain mind thoughts, do they?

Brain functions are the way that the brain works and the complications inside of it that help us to think. The brain function cannot explain what our mind is thinking about and why we think the way we do, but it can only explain literally HOW the brain works, but nothing to do with our thoughts.

(c) If we can make a robot (A.I) to a level of complexity similar to a human brain will it function only as the sum of its parts or could you visualize more?

I think that if we made a robot, then it would be exactly what you see. There would be a human brain in it, but it would never be a human because humans are made up of feelings and thoughts that a robot would never be able to be made up of artificially. I cannot visualize a robot having feelings and thoughts about anything in depth, but it’s brain would enable it to have knowledge of just surface things, not in depth thought.

(d) What if human beings had many of his/her parts replaced by artificial parts?

If his/her parts were replaced with artificial parts, I believe it depends on why they changed these parts. If somebody had to get a new leg because of an accident, they are obviously still a human, because of the way they think and feel, but it was a matter of health to get the part. If somebody replaced themselves with parts to gain something or because they want to be more of something, they are not a human anymore because they are now thinking like a robot.

(e) Would he/she still be human?

No, they would not be human anymore because if they felt like they had to change their parts to gain something for themselves, they obviously are not thinking like a human anymore but more like a robot, as they want to be artificially made.
