Introduction

The aim of the educators to deliver the quality education has been under the series of reconstruction. Through the application of the various types of teaching strategies, the educators can be the provider of knowledge or as bridge through various experiences. On the other hand, the advice of the parents and their guidance towards the quality education for their children is also helpful. The determination of the children to finish school and pursue their goals is fueled by their proper guidance.

Background and Problem Statement

Parenting is a sacred and teaching is a noble work. The role of the parents is remarkably emphasized upon the personality development of the children. Meanwhile, the role of the teachers is addressed in establishing the social and intellectual development of the students. Most likely, the teachers are also recognized as the second parents of the children and the school is their second home. Since both parent and students is the people whom the children can trust on to their overall development, how can the parents and the teachers contributes towards the English proficiency in primary schools, particularly in Nigeria?

Research Objectives

The first objective of the study is to determine the level of contribution that the parents and teachers can give in studying the English language among the primary schools. The second objective is to measure the extent of this collaboration that can create a great impact in the level of education in Nigeria. And the third objective is to provide another thrust for the parents, educators, school administrators, and government to continue their support regarding the study of English in primary schools.

Research Questions

The study gave importance to the effects of the quality education not only in an individual but for the entire nation. The creation of the several has an intention to align the necessary information and give emphasis on the idea of the parents and teachers collaboration.

1. What is the main purpose of the English education among the primary schools in Nigeria?

2. What are the actions of the educators regarding the English language education and proficiency?

3. How can the parents help in establishing the proficiency among the students?

Literature Review

Every country views the use of English language in order to develop the intellectual capacity of the students. The purpose of the teachers in teaching the English language is bridge the gap on education and continues the development in academic discipline. It is already given that the education is a practice of human rights and the students, even in their early age can practice their rights through the education. On the other hand, the parents have a natural attitude to seek for the qualitative education which is a vital step towards the children’s better future. Both parents and teachers agreed that the academic discipline in Nigeria is not enough to sustain the quality of education. This sensitive issue is valued by the government and it is so happen that the idea of quality education is established as a way to eliminate the bad trend in the country. Therefore, the creation of the curriculum that subjects to the English language teaching is administered across the educational settings in Nigeria (Nwuneli and Idowu, 2009). The use of the universal language is an effective tool to help the student build their own competencies and to help them in the future to communicate. It is a great advantage for a student if he learns to speak many languages and the only hidden reason in this type of skills is the contribution of the parents or teachers. Traditionally, teachers guide their students through the multiple intelligence and the parents fosters the development by supervising their progress (Kallenbach & Viens, 2002; Darling-Hammond, Austin, and Martin, 2003; Chen, 2005). Together, the parents and teachers can help achieve the level of quality of education for their students.

Methodology

The proposed method in the study is through the use of the interview, wherein the researcher/s can have an opportunity to seek the opinions of the educators and parents regarding the English language education. In addition, the interview method can help the study meet its own objectives for the information is clearly came from the assessment of the teachers and as well as from parents.

Conclusion

The participation of the parents in building the intellectual competencies is expected by the educators. It is much more anticipated during the competitiveness in education. And through the various collaboration successes that happened from the other countries, there is a possibility that the quality education can be also achieved by the Nigeria.
