Introduction
Crime and violence has become the emerging topic in the area of human rights and public policy. The increasing problems in society can be tracked on the young age up to their manhood. Furthermore, the crime and violence is not new in the perspectives of both sexes because committing a crime is also possible among women. Various governmental sectors and researchers attempt to find appropriate answer unto their questions that continuously growing over the years. For over the years, it is not new for each country to describe the numbers of the people inside the penitentiary. But in the issue that the women commit a crime deserves specific concern regarding their statuses and the socio-economic profiles. Those factors can be the great reason that can reveal the causes of the women’s establishment of their crimes.
The Women’s Socio Economic Profile
Various writings had been proven the fact that there is such an implication of the socio economic conditions among women that pushes them to do a certain crime. After the legal court procedure has been established and the female offender is behind bars, there are other suggested ideas that can be an effective strategy in the pursuance of the prisoner for their rehabilitation. The most common and probably the best reason that might affect the crime among women is the trouble parent and child relationship. The violation of the adolescent of the established household rules is more often reflected in females than in male delinquency. Due to the parental rejection of the children, most specifically the teenagers, is a burden for the mothers.
Same as the embarrassment or the lack of love they receive among their partners, the women is clouded with different thoughts. Their husband is with affair with the other women or there is no hope for the man to change his attitudes toward his wife and sometimes comes to the point of physical abuse. The socio economic factor can also play an essential part on this situation specially when the man is not doing his part to provide the needs of his family and the woman is in stressful relationship and she have to work hard for their children.
On the other hand, women who lives in the restrictive areas and aware in the complicated world in labor are sometimes turn to commit crimes. Because they are independent and there is no male counterpart to ask for help, when the industrial economy hits vagaries, there is a great tendency that women turn to wrongdoers just to live. Because of the lack of the employment opportunities or the disabled member of the family becomes the socio economic burden on the women’s families. In addition, there are many findings that this socio economic condition can be found among the urban areas than the rural ones.
Inside and the outside the family settings, the crime among women can be triggered. In which way, the age of the women involved in crime is not specific. In the age range of 30-50 years old, the women meet several problems that sometimes they find it hard to cope and adjust. In other situation, the other male and/or female criminal offenders can deliberately influence the other to join in their band.
Rehabilitation of the Women
Inside the jail, there are various rehabilitation programs being offered for the women. All the programs aim to provide the quality living after their sentence inside the penitentiary. Through the improvement of the women’s socio economic knowledge, the changes are possible. Based on the broad understanding of the people, the socio-economic and changes that tailing on its end can be found in the society. Together with the aim of the program, the appropriate management and promotion can shape the better future of the women. The socio economic program can be assessed as an effective approach based on the women’s level of education, work initiatives, and the application of the knowledge they gained through the various training programs. The balance treatment among the women inside the cold bars is in relation, although weak, of their economic resources and level of understanding of the women.
Conclusion
It is obviously proven that the poor economic position of the women in the country and their vulnerability can affect the women’s degree to adapt to the different economic and social changes. Therefore, different rehabilitation programs are formed to give the women second chance and prioritize their role as the women inside their families.
