Introduction

Most of the communities in all over the world are striving hard to find solution in their problems. Many problems results to another version of problems and that is the most difficult thing that could happen. The most common problem in the community are usually involved or incorporated with people. There are set of health care problems, poverty, underemployment and/or unemployment, and even the transportation. Due to the failures of the community leaders, to solve the problems, the trust of the people is decreasing affecting the values they give to their lives.

Background and Problem Statement

In today, the people in Kasoa community in Ghana are upset about the problems regarding the transportation. Few buses in the community pretend going on short destination, but as soon as they get to that destination, they call for other passengers to continue their journey which makes the passengers pay additional fare. This behavior drains inhabitants of their low earnings. However, the government of Ghana provided some buses but they are not enough, which is an additional problem for the community.

Research Objectives

The first objective of the study is to understand the problems in transportation which troubles the people living in the community. Second objective is to suggest other possible solution that can resolve the transportation problem or at least minimize the impacts.

Research Questions

The study understands that transportation is important for the people, and Kasoa community is not alone with this problem. Therefore, as guidance and alignment of the study, several questions are made that can help the study meet its own objections.

1. What are the other problems of transportation in the Kasoa community?

2. What are the other means of transportation that the people use aside from the buses?

3. What are the additional efforts of the government to resolve the ongoing problems in transportation?

Literature Review

Kasoa is a small community which is also a fast growing town in the Central Region of Ghana. The transportation plays an important role in the community for this is the major route of their trading. Many proposal that attempts to create the community as a gateway is viewed as a solution in the trading industry. Due to the various factors, the route towards the development of the community’s trading industry; many problems are now plaguing in the area. Such factors like the typhoons, floods, or earthquakes made the transportation hard for the people. In addition, the Kasoa is also a micro-credit hub that affects the livelihood of the people. With the recognized problems in the transportation, the people are frightened that the effects might reach in their socio-economic living. To add up, many transporting buses abuse the people by collecting additional payments which is not really good in the transportation. Even if the government attempted to provide solution by giving additional buses, the people still did not feel the action of the government for the many disadvantaged individuals received the most of the impacts. The effects might result into additional future problems such as the diminishing number of the investors because the community is weak in serving the transportation which is usually part of their development.

Methodology

The applied methodology in the study is the use of the interview. The participants are divided into two. The first group represents the people living in the Kasoa community and their information such as their age and the years of their residence are taken. The information is important in order to determine on how long does the transportation problem affects their lives. The second participants came from the government and same as the first group, their information are taken as well. The age, gender, years in service, and the position in government is prioritized that can somehow, affects their opinions and might result into their actions.

Conclusion

Traffic is already back in the neck and waiting in the long line of the passengers is also pain the feet. The government should create other solutions in order to gain the trust and progress in their country.
