From birth to death, humanity directs us through the years of life. We are told that life is wonderful and we should experience everything that comes our way, that life is too short. As we grow older we set goals for our future, strive for knowledge, hold on to your beliefs, and continue to learn from all the events and situations of our life- until the end, as though all the lessons learned and everything we have conquered is cashed in for some material purpose. That is the case; to live means to face obstacles, and since everything is always going to come to an end, we must think wisely. Our job as human beings is to get back up on our feet again when we come across negative moments, and work to face the days of success and serenity. Life will test us especially in times when we are weak, lying somewhere between defeat and success; like a sharpener is to a pencil, at the end of the day a rough blade will only make us sharper. I woke up one day and realized all the above. I took my doubted mind, my fear of knowing who I am and decided to change. Believing in who you are, self-talking, and having blind faith is what a person need to face his or her challenges.
As a young boy I feared rejection, I feared of hiding in the shadows. An inner voice always stopped me from acting the way I want, or doing the things I wanted to do. A little voice inside my head was afraid of not being in the spot light, and be thought low of by people around me. Did that affect my confidence, or was it happening because of my confidence? In both cases, there is the same outcome, fear of being your-self. In order to cope with this we must have self-belief: “What you practice, you become.” To practice this, simply imagine being confident in a certain situation. Imagine being able to go for anything you want and being good at it and everything seems to have a positive impact. Think of the things that I might have accomplished if I wasn’t afraid; weather they where good thing or bad things, I should have taken the chance to see the outcomes on my own. Therefore every time you imagine yourself, make the picture brighter and more colorful. Imagine people’s response will be positive. This technique can make your mind practice “becoming confident” in taking these challenges. At the end of the day you soul purpose is to believe in who you are, or else no one will have belief in what you can become.
After you gain the confidence and approach, sometimes it is hard to present it when you are on the spot; you need that push to let it out. We all have an internal voice that talks to us all the time, in my case my inner voice used to work against me. People use self-talk whenever they’re about to face something new. For instance, before taking a big step a lot of people say things like: “I can do this, I can do this…Or wait….No, I can do this…” this is what we call positive self-talking. In some cases, such as the example of myself, I spoke negatively to my self. We all talk ourselves in a negative manner through a lot of situations that could be good for us. First thing that we should do when we start to talk in a negative way to ourselves is to stop; start talking to our selves in a more positive manner which will give a positive impact on us. Feed your mind to be stronger and confident, stop criticizing yourself and begin to cheer yourself up instead. I heard a story once, morals behind it was sometimes in negative times, negative situations come to your advantage to help you out. There was an old man walking his old donkey. Along the path the donkey fell into a ditch and the man was not able, after many tries, to get him out. The man, thinking that the donkey is to old in the first place, gave up on rescuing him and when to get his son. With the help of his son, the old man started burying the donkey. The donkey soon stopped shouting and screaming, and to the old mans concern, he looked down to see what was the matter. He came to notice that every time the old man threw a pile of sand the donkey would shake it off his back and stand on it to get higher, until he reached the actual land. In this case, sometimes something negative can trigger a positive outcome. Why can’t negative self-talking trigger a positive reaction in you, an impact in your life that you can say “Stop! Be positive, I can do this!” When you see the walls crashing down on you, why can’t you realize that its not time for the end, there still more to life?
Okay, we learned to gain confidence, to push ourselves in a positive manner, but does that bring success and serenity? Is that all we need? No. A life without a purpose or a goal is not worth living. In order to succeed you need to have a strong faith and belief in something. We are all here for a reason and we must work for that reason. Without having faith and commitment in God nothing good will ever happen no matter how confident you are. For example, I look at human being like pencils in this case. A pencil would never be useful if it wasn’t in someone’s hands in order for it to work. Humans will never have a point in life unless they’re in someone’s hands also “God’s hands” which is a term used to show loyalty and acceptance to God. Without turning to our religions and keeping a strong faith and belief, nothing good will ever happen. We must know that whatever happens and no matter how life can be hard God has a better plan for me.
Life is full of obstacles; good days, bad days. Should we allow the obstacle to shape our life? The way we deal with situations and events is what defines us. In other words life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond to it. It is easily viewed, that what occurs to you and what comes in your direction is only ten percent of what “Life” has in place for us. Through the challenges we face, and the lessons we must follow to keep our mind positive even in negative situations is the “key of life.” Your confidence, your ability to believe in yourself and settle for greatness, and your faith in a savior is the remaining ninety percent of what “Life” will have in place for you. You, above all creation, are responsible for you own fate. Until the end- collect your award, believe in optimism, so you can cash in for a high price.
