Abstract
The Study is about the accessibility of the Internet to address the females’ changing attitude in its promotion in learning. The main aim of the research is to provide answers in fostering the education through the help of the Internet. The students participated in the study were all females and administered through the use of the questionnaires. Through the use of the questionnaires as the method, the research can achieve the highest possible answer that personally came from the students who are also the main concern of the study.
Introduction
Computers became the most useful tool not only in the corporate world but also in the pedagogical settings. The computer will be more powerful when it is connected to the Internet. In just one click and the person is connected in the different web sites where he can view all the essential information. Internet became the second library of the students and through the Internet; the students can learn to develop not only their communication skill but gathering additional knowledge and skills.
Background of the Study and Problem Statement
Internet is also associated in the virtual learning and recognized as the partner of the student and/ of the teacher. The Internet serves different people and can able to connect them even if they are million miles away. Other than that, the educational setting observed that the Internet is considered as an important as the research tool (Usun, 2003). However, the main concern is about the learning outcomes that the Internet can create specially on the attitude of the females in learning.
Research Objectives
The research considered two objectives that fueled the entire study. First, the study attempts to identify the specific learning outcome with the intervention of the Internet. And second is to make thrust on another pedagogical innovation that is with the concern of the Internet that can help support and improve the learning.
Research Questions
The research composed the basic questions to help the researchers in fulfillment of the paper. The following questions are related to the main topic and are presented below:
1. How does the technology as well as the Internet help the students develop their learning capacity?
2. How does the Internet be an effective tool in facilitating the learning and communication in different academic subjects?
3. Does the Internet helps to build a strong bridge in the relationship of the students and the teachers towards learning?
Literature Review
The Internet, based on the view of the students, are easier to use that the library, while the girls finds it more fun because it offers different sites which is about the social networking. Ideally, the access of a person to the Internet can help the student to promote the individual learning because she can study at home. Meanwhile, the girls who are really focused in their study are treating their Internet-accessed computer as an essential tool in surviving the college (Usun, 2003). The learning intervention with the use of Internet is different from the classroom format. Through the use of the technologies, the teachers can show the lectures through the web-based vide, email, audio and video conferencing, and others. The Internet became the partners of the teachers and targets the attention of the students most especially the girls that are non-participative in the traditional classroom settings. The Internet became a meaningful way to integrate the language and culture which is effective in the diversity settings. This increases the linguistic and cultural knowledge as well as the motivation of the students (Al-Jarf, 2004). The Internet can gradually help the improvement of the learning outcomes not only of the females but all of the students as well as the teaching methods of the teachers. This also promotes the collaboration among the students and builds a student-teacher relationship. The interaction of the students increases their in-depth analysis and understanding that afterwards, enables them to think and produce their own idea. Part of it is that the Internet can create a great responsibility and participate in different learning activities in their individual needs, interests, and capabilities. But the most important significant outcome of the learning intervention is the contribution in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are essential in fulfilling the student’s aim to successful education (Manzanares, 2004; Dix, 2005).
Methodology
The applied method of the study is through the incorporation of the questionnaires. The questionnaires cited the different issues in the usage of the students in the availability of the Internet and how does the Internet affect their learning capabilities. The questionnaires are only given to the female students and included a free space where they can write their own ideas about the Internet-connection computer in relation to their studies.
