Introduction: Background of the Study and Problem Statement
Molecular biology, in a broad understanding, is incorporated with the idea of biology and looks at the molecular machinery in life. This field of biology is been introduced in the early 60s and since then, the continuing efforts to cut the leading edge became massive. The bandwagon of improvement in the field of science is focused on analyzing the composition of the molecules or molecular structure. Through this, the idea of cloning is very much entertained by the scientists and different professionals studying this field. By that fact, how is the pursuance of the molecular biology in plants?
Research Objectives
The main objective of the study is to set the clarification on the molecular biology that specified the plants. The molecular structures of plants are unique on the other plants but there are possibilities that the plants can be combined. This is possible if the study successfully discovered the common composition of plants. It is believed that through the understanding of the proteins in the plants enables the botanists to fix the damage plants, promote the restructure of the endangered plants, and support the intervention in combination to generate new type of plants.
Research Questions
The study prepared some questions that might play essential in the completion of the study. Through the questions, the highest potential answer can be determined.
1. What is the main idea of molecular biology on plants?
2. In understanding the molecular biology of plants, how can it help the entire community?
3. What are the open opportunities for the people if they are engaged in botany and mastered the work of the molecular biologist?
Literature Review
Molecular biology in plants are composed of the protein synthesis, transduction and development, study of genome or genomics, cell biology, metabolism, bioenergetics, molecular responses, biotic and abiotic stress, and plant biotechnology. This also includes the idea of chloroplasts and gene expression (Gupta, Sopory, & Maheshwari, 2001). The education in molecular biology is mainly focused on the area of biology and agriculture. In fact, the molecular biology doesn’t need too much work within the four corners of laboratory. The biologists are also part of the studies done by the journalist and incorporated in the scientific writing. The pharmaceuticals, medicine, health care, biotechnology, and education are also part of the scope of opportunity in the molecular biology (Ohio State University, 2006; Baum and Offner, 2008). Through the introduction of the molecular biology, there is a relevant reduction of damage in crops. The scientists of the molecular biology applied its principle and idea to the plants and introduced methods such as giving the plants its own immune system for its protection from the pests. Basically the molecular biology is an intricate nature of work by through the success; the discovered method has grown commercially and widely adopted in agriculture (NRC, 2000). The research of plant molecular biology in the international level is being done in India. This is because the country has its basic knowledge in plant molecular biology and it is natural for the foreign scientists to ask for support or help. Although there are techniques that are not suitable in their process, the continue research and development doesn’t stop there. Instead, they placed an importance in the integration of the plants in the center of biology which regard in the involvement of the agriculture, medicine, and human welfare (Gupta, Sopory, & Maheshwari, 2001).
Methodology
The methodology being required in this study is the use of the comparative case studies. It is a great challenge for the study to decode the hidden concepts of the molecular biology in plants and there are specific questions that are in need to answer. Through the applied method, the past literatures regarding to the molecular biology of plants can be examined and analyzed. The utilization of this method opens a great opportunity for the research itself to conduct its own version of analysis and conclusion that might contribute to the agricultural contexts.
Conclusion
The further study is identified as a contributing factor that helps the farmers in minimizing the losses due from crop pests. This is because there are improved conventional breeding practices, such as hybridization that created to develop the crops with desirable traits. But the priority is still on the development of the other methods to create more potential out of plants. Therefore, there should be a support coming from the organizations and from the government to satisfy the upcoming challenges of the botanists. In addition, the collaboration of the scientific observations and technology is a great advantage in discovering valuable facts.
