Sample Persuasive Essay: Zimbabwe

People around the world don’t get the Government that they deserve. Countries like Zimbabwe definitely don’t have the Government that they deserve. Their country is run by Robert Mugabe and he has taken away almost everything from everyone. The people of Zimbabwe are filled with fear they don’t know what is going to happen next and worst of all they can’t stop any of this from happening if they try they will most likely be killed. The public of Britain in ‘V for Vendetta’ were also afraid to stand up to their Government but they had someone to help them through the process, someone who had seen it all before, someone who had been through the worst and was willing to help them get the Government that they deserved.

When a person is running to become the next President or Prime Minister they tell the public what they want to hear, “I will bring you peace”, “taxes will be lower” are just a few examples. Candidates may say all these during an election so that the people of the country they want to lead will vote for them and so they can have all the power, but when they get the power that they wanted the promises they promised somehow disappear and everything goes differently then what they had said. Not saying that everyone person that goes for the Prime Minister or President lies but most of them do or everything they say they will do just never happens like the people who voted for them thought it would. Places like Zimbabwe need to be changed before it gets even more out of control. People are loosing their loved ones, shelter, food and water. Mugabe is doing this to his people with no hesitation.

Getting beating up on the streets in Zimbabwe is something that happens often, because people don’t agree with Mugabe and what he is doing to the country. He needs to be stopped but people are too afraid of him. No one deserves to be treated like the people of Zimbabwe are being treated. They don’t deserve the Government they have, they don’t deserve Mugabe. They need to be treated fairly and not have things taken off them. It’s crazy what these people are going through, too scared to even go out in public in case they are attacked for something they didn’t even know that have done. Mugabe has taken away everyone’s freedom.

Candidates are more like fake people during the election period. They seem like nice caring people but really their probably not, they are probably just sweet talking you and everyone else so they can control you and control everything you do. Like the Government in ‘V for Vendetta’ they controlled everything that everyone did and they didn’t even let people out at night. They took away everyone’s freedom. People are being tricked into believing everything that the candidates say and once they have become the leader of the country they are a different person and surprise the public with the decisions they make for everyone living in the country.

Wanting the power to lead the country shouldn’t be taken advantage of. Places like Zimbabwe are going through hell with their President, if a new President was elected they would have to be the right person, they would have to be truthful and change the country to be a better place. Even if there was another election in Zimbabwe, Mugabe would have control over all the people, they know what he would be capable of they didn’t vote for him, they would be so scared to even think about voting for another person to lead their country, but something needs to be done to change they way they are living. Zimbabwe is enough proof to prove that people really don’t deserve the Government that they get.
