Phytoremediation on Water by Princess Vine Plant

Introduction

The use of environmental cleanup that involves the use of plants and fungi is a good idea to explore the world between the interaction of plants and humans. The applied technique in this kind of strategy is based on the agricultural processes of the farmers or tillers. By then, the involvement of plants to clean the environment needs to have thorough investigation. The significance of this study is to enlighten the community regarding the importance of Princess Vine Plants and emphasize the meaning of Phytoremediation as a natural force of the plants to reduce the pollutants.

Background and Problem Statement

The concept of cleaning the environment with the aid of plants is a practical solution applied by the farmers to prevent the buildup of potentially hazardous substances in the soil while on the other hand, enriching the soil. The wide practice of this technique had been passed in every generation and referred as the Phytoremediation. There are number of forms of Phytoremediation that include various plants and justified to effectively fight the pollutants and storing them. The action of the farmers is to plant the trees or the specific plant and then remove them after the plant already pulled the pollutants from the soil. Because of this scientific discovery, the experts are planning to explore the other plants that will contribute in environmental cleanup. The problem is what is the Phytoremediation on water, not soil, of Princess Vine Plant?

Research Aim and Objectives

The aim of the study is to investigate the Phytoremediation of Princess Vine Plant on water. In order to demonstrate the essential answers, there are three objectives that should be considered. First, describe the nature or behavior of Phytoremediation as an action of environmental clean up. Second, investigate the capability of this process among the plants and its impact on the community. And third is to draw an analysis on the Phytoremediation in the family of Princess Vine plant.

Literature Review

The involvement of plants and fungi in environmental clean up proves that humans and their mind cannot surpass the natural functions of nature. The discovery of Phytoremediation is a great action of the people to reduce the pollutions founded for many years. Because of the growing industries across the globe, the earth is now considered in peril. The genetically engineered plant are not large in number but can be easily identified because of their fast-growing characteristics. However, Phytoremediation actions are slow in which the scientists are unraveling the mysterious functions of the plants functions in absorbing the pollutants. Aside from cleaning the soil, there are other plants that can also reach the ground water and clean it with the use of Phytoremediation. One of those recognizable plants is the Cissus Sicyoides which are used as a medicinal plant and can be found in most parts of Brazil. From the family of grapevine there exists the Princess Vine, Millionaire Vine, and Curtain Ivy. These plants are discovered to contain the essential extract that have hypoglycemic and anti-lipemic effects. As a medicinal plant, the Princess Vine and others are used to treat other diseases because of the enzymes and other material found within its fresh leaves.

Princess Vine Plant is used in Pasig River and authorities expect that through the help of the plant, it can restore the life of the river. The promote absorption and increase tolerance of toxic substances in the river water is the most admirable action of the plant. The action that it may produce can be also considered to control the spread of the pollution, metabolize the pollutants, breakdown and absorb the harmful elements for the total environmental clean up. The long process involved in Phytoremediation can however affect the ability of the plant to perform according to its function. There is also an unanswered query regarding the capability of the plant to create the same result in water and on to the soil. Furthermore, the plant’s components need to be explored into an extensive range to describe if the plant can also pollute the water because of the extracts found within their fibers.

Methodology

The suggested method in the study is the use of the secondary information coming from the scientific reports and analysis. The materials should be used are the academic and medical contexts, journals of medicines and plants, and other reports associated with the investigation of Phytoremediation. Since Princes Vine plants are popular among the regions of Brazil, and Philippines have no record (or limited record) regarding the plants, it is an advantage for the study to review the related investigations.
