WHAT EFFECT HAS CONSUMERISM HAD IN TURKEY?

Nowadays, consumerism is a life style in Turkey. Many things affect people and drift them to shopping like advertisements, popular brands and other countries. Especially, for teenagers and middle-aged people, consumerism is very important and a life style. Also, according to some people consumerism is a way of distinguishing and satisfying themselves. However, for most of the poor people, consumerism is necessary, but it is an adversity for budgets. Anyhow, advertisements and popular brands drift them to shopping, since many people like them and when a person see a popular brand, in spite of their products are not beautiful, many people think it is good. Also, other countries and their products affect people much. Many people interest in foreign products and brands. Also, among teenagers consumerism is a way of distinguish themselves. Of course, people affect one another much. For instance, when my one aunt buys something, my other aunt is impressed from it and wants to buy it. In Turkey, people are impressed from many things and consumerism is becoming stylish global brand consumers.
